Macro strategy: rotation, objective control, vision, and shotcalling
Macro is the decision-making outside of fights: when to rotate, what to take first, and when to give something up.
This category covers four of them. Which matters more between Turtle, Lord, and turrets, and when that order flips. How to manage the minion wave so a lane pushes itself while you are somewhere else. How to hold vision in the areas that matter and infer enemy positions from the minimap. And how to call for your team without turning chat into noise.
This is usually what separates a close win from a comfortable one. Plenty of kills but no turrets down is the classic sign of macro leaking.
One warning before you start. Macro advice reads as obvious and plays as difficult, because it competes for attention with whatever is happening in your own lane right now.
So take one habit per match rather than all four at once. Spend one game doing nothing but glancing at the minimap every time you recall, then add the next habit after that.
Read this once you are comfortable in your own role. Managing the map is hard while your own lane still needs attention.
